Today was a “bone day”, and these three take bones very seriously. They were out on the deck with their individual bones for over one hour. Then the bones were cleaned off enough so I let them come in with their treasures. I am always amazed how long and hard these dogs try to get to all the marrow inside the bones. It’s hard work and so much better for their teeth then toothbrushes.? Again, I go by facts. None of my dogs ever had to have their teeth cleaned mechanically. And Magean’s teeth were pretty bad when she first came. We did root canals on her canine teeth because they were open. Other than that, bones did the job. As well, Jessie with her close to 14? had really good teeth, better then some 5 year olds I saw.
If you do not like the idea of a real bone, get a real NYLABONE. Just make sure its big enough for the size of your dog. NYLABONES act like dental floss and Sally loves to?chew on it in between the real bones. Just make sure its the REAL Nylabone, not the after market box store type. I only ever used the authentic Nylabone made in the US. I do not know what’s in the fake ones, so I cannot vouch for them.
