Pumpkin/Squash time for dog food

This is a great time of the year to stock up for winter dinners! And pumpkin or squash is such a healthy addition to our dogs food. It’s been proven to help with constipation, diarrhea, upset stomach, and its great for digestion. It is easy to absorb and easy to digest. I use all the seeds as well.
If you want an easy way to cook it – here is what I do
Baked pumpkin/squash: Take a medium winter squash, about 3 to 4lbs, puncture the skin with a sharp knife, place in an earthenware or glass dish with a bit of water. Bake in the oven at about 380F (190C) for about 45 minutes to an hour. Check with a knife if done.
Let it cool completely, scoop out the flesh and the seeds, place into the food processor with 4 TB of olive oil.
Process to a smooth texture. Keeps in a covered container in the fridge for 3 days. I freeze it in individual portions. Add your protein – Today my dogs had this with a can of salmon each.
Dogs love pumpkin and squash.
