Ingredients:
1 1/2 c oatmeal
1 c whole grain spelt flour
2/3 c hempseed meal
1/2 c lupin flour
3/4 c buckwheat flour
2 tbsp dried herbs
2 tbsp coconut oil or olive oil
1 egg
About 1/4 c veggie broth OR pure red beet juice (see below)
1/4 c sesame seeds
1/4 c pumpkin seeds
1/4 c sunflower seeds
Directions:
Heat oven to 280 F. Grind the sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. Add all the other ingredients and mix and knead to make a soft dough.
Add EITHER
2 Tb turmeric
1 tb freshly ground pepper
OR
3 TB spirulina powder
OR
Pure red beet juice instead of the veggie broth.
Roll into cylinders to make tubes, then cut to bite size pieces. Or roll and cut out into bite size cookies using a cookie cutter. Spread out on cookie sheets.
Bake 2 sheets at the time. Check after 20 minutes...do not over bake. The cut outs are done sooner than the "sausages".
